Safeguarding
A welcoming space starts with safety.
Our practical commitments for classes, workshops, younger dancers and event partners.

Our standards
LU Bhangra aims to provide respectful, inclusive sessions free from bullying, harassment, discrimination and intimidating behaviour. Teaching should be age-appropriate, clearly explained and adaptable to the needs agreed with dancers or organisers.
Children and young people
A parent, carer or responsible organiser should contact us before a younger dancer attends so supervision, collection and emergency-contact arrangements can be agreed. For school, SEN and youth settings, we work with the organisation's safeguarding lead and follow the venue's procedures. Any vetting or staffing requirements must be confirmed as part of the booking.
Health, access and emergencies
Tell the instructor about relevant access needs, injuries or health considerations before a session. Dancers should work at a comfortable level, bring water and stop if they feel unwell. In an immediate emergency, call 999.
Photography and video
We ask for appropriate permission before featuring identifiable participants in LU Bhangra promotional content. For children and organised groups, consent arrangements should be agreed with the parent, carer, school or event organiser before filming.
Raise a concern
If something does not feel right, speak to the session lead when safe to do so or email lubhangraclass@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to act, but do not send highly sensitive information through the general website form. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
